"Marc Janssens gives shape to a different kind of degeneration,

a poetry-struck mutation,

a dream world in which man and object are the same given.

He puzzles with fine fingers and cogs, wings that are membranes,

tiny engines with dust ingrained in specks of rust.

He designs little human monsters that have become one

with their plane not taking off either.

A mermaid resistant to oil, an upright

character who wants to set bizarre prosthetics in motion.

He embroiders with ceramics and pulverized materials monstrosities

who have escaped from the caves of an ancient ritual,

butterflies with the body of a doll.

They are all nice things that have worn out

and take the unexpected from their uniform or their armor their charm

and who are poetically touched by

the careful fingers of time."
