Renée Pevernagie's work departs from the observation of landscapes, plants, and human traces in flux. Her practice focuses on what is fragile and on the verge of disappearing, without ever becoming nostalgic. Drawing on a strong tradition of draughtsmanship, she translates her observations into hushed images in which rhythm, repetition, and emptiness play a central role. The works oscillate between recognition and abstraction, demanding a careful and attentive gaze. Pevernagie's practice explores how time inscribes itself in matter, and how drawing can be a form of careful, caring registration.
