Lives and works in Belgium.

Artur Eranosian was born in 1989 in Yerevan, Armenia. He studied photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and began working as a professional photographer in 2010. The surreal atmosphere of Belgian towns provided the perfect backdrop for Eranosian's work. He photographed Belgian people within their own absurd landscapes, creating a distinctive body of street photography that has received awards in several international competitions.

A turning point came when Eranosian discovered the work of Raoul De Keyser. It opened his eyes to the abstraction present in everyday life. He began to recognize the geometric and minimalistic forms of artists like Piet Mondrian (1872–1944), Barnett Newman (1905–1970), and Kazimir Malevich (1878–1935) reflected in the modern urban environment. From that moment, he shifted his focus away from people and began capturing abstract images of street objects. His photographic prints started to resemble paintings, leading to his first art exhibitions in 2016.

Since 2020, painting has increasingly become his primary medium. With the same attention to purity and layering that characterized his photography, Eranosian now creates immaculate oil-on-canvas compositions. As a self-taught painter, he enjoys experimenting, and his technique is constantly evolving. For Eranosian, the frames are not just functional; they are integral to the artwork, an additional fine line in the overall composition.

Oil paint is a deliberate and essential choice for him. It allows for intense, vibrant colors and connects his practice to art history. By using linseed oil and turpentine as a medium, Eranosian echoes the traditional methods of painters from 600 years ago. There’s a compelling continuity in seeing the same method used in the same region today to produce modern abstract works.

Now based in Belgium, Eranosian's work is included in several private and museum collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, where he exhibited in 2018.
