(EN) "Intas" is a series of paintings by artist Vika Bis (°1997, Elektrostal), born from a deep inner need to communicate not only through images but also through the sensations of time, memory, and the heart. This work became a journey for me – from early childhood memories to the experiences of a more conscious adult life. Each painting in this series is connected to a moment that deeply touched me – be it a fleeting glance, an intimate encounter, an inner shift, or an unexpected revelation. These moments, seemingly simple or long forgotten, suddenly take shape and color, emerging on the canvas as emotional spaces, not just illustrations.

"Intas" is not a narrative; it is the breath of memory. There are no literal stories here, but each work speaks – of light, of pain, of presence, of what remains with us even when we don't notice it. Painted in oil on canvas, these works invite the viewer to experience the materiality of memory, the texture of time, and the resonance of emotions. Childhood, with its innocence and formative experiences, remains a recurring and crucial theme, shaping our perception of the present.

I believe great art exists beyond time. It speaks softly yet profoundly, evoking not only visual delight but also a profound emotional response. I want the viewer not only to look at these paintings but also to feel them; perhaps to recognize fragments of themselves in them, to pause and dwell in the intimate space these works create.

This series is my way of saying, "I am here," and to hear the response, "I am here too."
