Fabiola Gonzales

°1995, Peru.
Lives and works in Lima, Peru.

Visual artist and cultural manager, she studied Painting at the Faculty of Art & Design at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and editorial illustration at Toulouse Lautrec. In her works, she shows the variants of affectivity, the deconstruction of memory and the way in which they are contained in domestic archives and private spaces. In this way, she introduces himself to new narratives where collage, photography, painting and installation inhabit by observing the dimension of affectivity and the forms of reproduction in different supports, spaces and encounters.
At the end of 2019, she founded the interdisciplinary and itinerant space for contemporary artistic practices Sótano 1, which he currently directs. She has also been the winner of the first prize to the critic of the specialty of Painting of the Faculty of Art and Design, PUCP (2019). Finalist for the ICPNA CONTEMPORARY ART award (2023). She has participated in the 'Photos for Change' program, carried out by the US Embassy, ​​and ICPNA (2018) and in workshops on ethnography, documentary photography, new media and expansive drawing by Veronica Boggio and Augusto del Valle; 'Amar el error' directed by Maria Roberta Valente (ARG), 'Political video art workshop' by curator Mario Gutierrez Cru (ESP). She has collaborated in the curatorship of MODA MONUMENTAL with the art director Christian Duarte (2021) and the Latin American Traveling Festival VIDEOTITLÁN (MEX, 2021).
She has participated in two artistic residencies, La Fabrique III at the Alianza Francesa in Lima (2022) and at Casa Intermitente, Mar de Plata, Argentina (2022). She has made four singles 'Nobody taught me to say no, now I sing every day' CASA FUGAZ, (2020), 'Pica and pica negotiations' in Galería del Paseo (2020), GOMENASAI in CASA FUGAZ (2022), 'Before end the yellow coffee' at Ginsberg Gallery (2023). She is currently an artist represented by GINSBERG Galería.
